Economy in the A380 isn't too bad, aside from the rubbish food....it's going from bad to worse. I don't know how they do it but they seem to take a simple ingredient and turn it into something unrecognisable. The egg-based breakfast was inedible, the veggie pizza was a mistake and everything else was bland or watered down. I should have written down the name of the chef who supposedly created the menu - should disassociate himself from Qantas very quickly.
Anyway, everything went smoothly. A sign in the Irish departures transit area at Heathrow said it was a 25min walk to the gate! Fark me, nearly had a heart-attack as I was running slightly late. How can the gate be c.2.5km from the transit lounge???...and this is after having already transferred to the Aer Lingus terminal. Got there in 8 minutes....possibly a new world record.
Dublin seems quite intimate. You don't need to stray too far off the main streets before it gets a bit dodgy. Have already had some locals warn me not to walk down one street (Fleet St). There are a lot of locals looking up asking what is that blue stuff is....summer has finally arrived. Have only spent a couple hours walking around town but I seemed to have covered a fair bit of it already. Wandered through Trinity College and am now about to head to Mulligan's (Poolbeg St) for lunch and my first pint. Can't wait. Suggesting that there is a pub on every corner is no lie, but this would exclude all the pubs not on corners as well!
